Prelude: The First of June by Paul West
SHERI – Call to Worship; Sharing a little background on the theme:
As we all grapple with the current social mandates, what new joys or purposes have we found ourselves focusing on?
JIM: James 1:2-3 – Pure Joy In Trials
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
JIM: PRAYER OF ADORATION [BEFORE OR AFTER READING]
Jesus loves me, this I know For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong They are weak, but He is strong
REFRAIN
Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so
Jesus loves me, this I know As He loved so long ago
Taking children on His knee, Saying, “Let them come to Me.”
REFRAIN
Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me, the Bible tells me so
SHERI: 1 Peter 1:1-9
SHERI: PRAYER OF CONFESSION [BEFORE OR AFTER READING]
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found, was blind, but now I see
Through many dangers toils and snares, I have already come
Tis grace that brought us safe thus far, and grace will lead us home
When we’ve been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise, than when we first be – gun
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I’m found, was blind, but now I see
BILL: HEBREWS 10:21-25
and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, help me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night Lead me on to the light
Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home
When my way grows drear, Precious Lord, linger near
When my life is al-most gone,
Hear my cry, hear my call, Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home
Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, help me stand
I am tired, I am weak, I am worn
Through the storm, through the night Lead me on to the light
Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home

STEVE: Joys & Concerns
O when the saints go marchin’ in, O when the saints go marchin’ in,
Lord, I want to be in that number When the saints go marchin’ in.
O when the sun refuse to shine, O when the sun refuse to shine,
Lord, I want to be in that number When the sun refuse to shine.
O when the moon goes down in blood, O when the moon goes down in blood,
Lord, I want to be in that number When the moon goes down in blood.
O when the stars have disappeared, O when the stars have disappeared,
Lord, I want to be in that number When the stars have disappeared,
O when the saints go marchin’ in, O when the saints go marchin’ in,
Lord, I want to be in that number When the saints go marchin’ in.
